300 Souls and a Two-Year Clock

A massive apartment development has officially begun right next door to our no-kill shelter, and I’m worried.
The Two-Year Clock While our lease is secure for another two years, the future beyond that is a heavy question mark. Residential apartments and a bustling shelter aren’t always the easiest neighbors. Moving is actually the easiest part, but the bigger questions remain: Where would we move to? And how would we find the resources to rebuild all over again?
Why This Location is "The One" Five years ago, our shelter was tucked away in a rural area where adoptions were slow and volunteers were rare. Moving here changed everything. We found a "sweet spot"—urban enough for volunteers and adopters to reach us easily, but rural enough to safely house 300+ animals. This location is the reason we’ve been able to scale our impact and find 2,000+ forever homes for the dogs and cats that have passed through our gates.

We Aren’t Giving Up It scares us to even think about losing this sanctuary, especially after pouring so much time and so many resources into it. But we know we will figure it out. Twenty years ago, our shelter's founder, Sister Ling, had to sleep in a parking lot with over 100 dogs, and she survived. The shelter survived. Now, she isn’t alone. With PawliBar and our community behind us, we can handle whatever challenges come our way.
We are sharing this because you are part of this journey. Your support is more critical than ever as we navigate these next two years and fight for our home. Thank you for standing by us.
